Implants

What is Dental Implant?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are placed into the jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. They are used as a permanent solution for replacing missing teeth. The implant itself is typically made of titanium, a biocompatible material that integrates the jawbone. The process of replacing a tooth with an implant involves several steps. First, the implant is surgically placed into the jawbone. Over the course of a few months, the implant fuses with the bone in a process called osseointegration. Once the implant has integrated with the bone, an abutment is attached to the implant to connect the replacement tooth or bridge. Finally a custom made crown, bridge, or denture (all-on-4’s) is placed on top of the abutment to complete the restoration. Dental implants have a high success rate and can significantly improve a person’s ability to chew,
speak, and smile with confidence.
